Fated To Die
Fated to Die is a dark text based adventure game where the choices you make are determined by dice rolls. The game features branching paths, choices that impact outcomes and multiple endings.
Tutorial.
The fate die rolls in each scene to determine which choices are available. You may click on more dice to attempt to roll to unlock more choices. Each time you roll, the value is added to the fate counter. If the fate counter fills, a single die is rolled and that roll's option is the only one you can choose.
Some choices will be marked with a skull. These choices result in a special skull roll, the more dangerous the event, the more dice rolled. Any skulls (1) rolled and you fail the event and face the bad consequences.

I finally got around to updating the build. Fixed a few bugs, and some text issues.
should the fate of a mercenary assassin lead to their death should anyone shed a tear? failure attempted as rigormortis settles over the malodorous aroma alerts the patrols. randomly the story gives clear pictures tastefully selected visions from the chaotic depressive tale. as we are all fated to become whole again with the dirt, a skull passing one voice to another is the same as any other at the end.

Fated to Die ranked 44th out of 6142 entrees in the GMTK game jam. The game showed up briefly in the final winner's video, but was not selected by Mark as one of his
favorite 20 games. Thank you so much to everyone who voted and said such kind things about the game. This was my first game jam and it was a pretty daunting task to finish this game in 2 days as a lone developer. I will try and get an update out to fix some of the issues in the coming days. Thanks for playing.
This is a nicely crafted adventure. There's multiple ways to solve some scenarios, some involving luck, others exploration.
It's great that you can see which options have potentially deadly outcomes, nice detail.
The time mechanic was a bit confusing at first, but it adds tension to each roll.
Good stuff!
